Rev. Herman Boyd, Sr. died peacefully of complications from renal failure on October 11, 2015 at Methodist Hospice in Memphis, Tn. On July 11, 1929, Herman was the last of six children born to Lewis Eugene Boyd and Evelyn Lillian Thomas of Brighton, Tn. Rev. Boyd was survived by children Cleveland (Verlene) Carruthers, Gloria (John) Burnett, Bernadine Cosby, Marilyn (Terry) Puckett, Leila Boyd, Herman Boyd, Jr. and Evelyn (Michael) Simmons. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years Marie and daughters Grace (Roger) Willis, Sandra Turner and Scheherazande Martin.
