Hugh M. "Huff" Huffman passed away October 24, 2017.
He was born March 5, 1937 in Memphis, TN. He was proceded in death by his parents Hugh M. Huffman, Sr. and Doris Huffman.
He leaves his lovely wife and the love of his life, Twila; his daughter, Courtney Johnson (Michael) and three grandchildren. Stepchildren, Skip Shropshire (Laurie) and Tricia Hunt (Dade) and seven grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Janet Stephenson.
He graduated from Bartlett High School where he played all sports, but excelled in baseball.
From junior high school through high school, annual summer league ball, four year as a pitcher at Memphis State University, he compiled a record of 130 wins, 9 loses, 1 tie with 10 no hitters, no-run games.
Huffman retired from the Tennessee National Guard with 37 year's service with the rank of Senior Chief Master Sergeant.
An avid sports fan, he loved Memphis State, Alabama, Willie, Waylon and the Boys.
He hated Tennessee, Notre Dame and MSNBC. He loved the Thursday retirees luncheon at Piccadilly. His body has been donated to Genesis Gift of Life Program.
There will be a private family Celebration of Life. Huff asked that any memorials be sent to the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
