James Earl "Tony" Beaver 59, of Millington, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2019, at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, TN.  He was Preceded in death by his father and mother, brothers, Ronald Bruce Beaver and Charlie Flipping, and a beloved sister-in-law, Yolanda (Bruce) Beaver.  Tony was born July 30, 1959, the youngest child to Thurman and Robella (Hairl) Beaver in Memphis, TN.  Tony accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Gilfied Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Rev. H.D. Carmichael.  He was a 1977 graduate of Bolton High School, where he starred as a 'shooting guard' for the basketball team and quarterback for the football team,  After graduation, he went on to play junior college basketball at Dyersburg State Community College.  Tony worked as a construction laborer, landscaping team member, and other odd jobs, always displaying a wonderful knack for solving problems and making outcomes seem easy.  Tony truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, helping neighbors, and spending time with his dogs.  Tony had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.  He is survived by his brothers, Thurman "Tee" Jr. (Corlis "Deana") and Harold (Barbara) Beaver; a sister-in-law, Irma-Jean Flipping; and many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Family, friends, and others whose lives Tony touched are invited to the Jefferson Mortuary, 7788 Church Street, Millington,TN 38053 from 5 - 7 p.m. on Friday, April 5th to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat.  Funeral services Saturday, April 6th at 11 a.m. also at Jefferson Mortuary.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Rest Memorial Gardens of Millington.
