Obituary

Waldo Campbell was born on December 3, 1934 in Somerville, TN to Orestes Campbell, Sr. and Elise Campbell. He entered into eternal rest on September 21, 2021.
Waldo grew up in Somerville, TN where he graduated from Fayette County Training School in the mid-1950s. Afterwards, he moved to Memphis where he eventually began his 13 year career in sales at Sunshine Biscuits.
Waldo was united in holy matrimony to Ophelia Campbell in 1972 and one son, Kirk, was born to this union. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be fondly remembered by family and friends for his unmatched sense of humor and his infectious laugh. He was a man of integrity and strength who loved God. He passed these attributes on to his children, grandchildren, and many others.
Not long after marriage, Waldo became heavily involved in ministry. In 1985, he became the pastor of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church and Wilson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully until he went home to be with the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orestes Campbell, Sr. and Elise Campbell; sisters, Wilma Jarmon and Ida Pearl Tate; brothers Orestes Campbell, Jr. and Alvin Campbell.
He is survived by his son Kirk (Courtney) Campbell, daughter Thelma Jones, grandsons Brandon Levi Campbell, Christopher Campbell, and Jaylon Hughes and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends.
