Obituary

Mr. Robert "Beer Man" Fox, Jr., was born on March 15, 1942.  He was the oldest child of the late Robert and Cecelia Fox.  He will always be remembered for his barbecuing skills & sauce, visiting the Greyhound Dog Track, and the fun-filled memories of playing cards with his in-laws.

Robert was also known by the nickname of 'Bob Fox'.  He accepted Christ at the age of 12.  Later in his life, he joined St. Paul A.M.E. Church where he served diligently as a dedicated Steward and Trustee.

He attended Woodstock Elementary School.  He received his high school diploma in 1962 from Manassas High School.  On June 29, 1963, he was united in holy matrimony to Barbara Ann Holliday.  From this union two children were born, Anthony Earl Fox and Stephanie Marie Fox.

Bob Fox was a dedicated employee of several companies in Memphis that included international Harvester and Sears & Roebuck.  He finally retired after 15 years of services with the Shelby County Government as a Deputy Jailor.

On August 21, 2019 at 12:04 a.m., Bob Fox transitioned to his heavenly home.  Although he has joined his parents Robert and Cecelia Fox, his oldest sister, Glinnie Mae Holmes, and his younger brother Thomas Ervin Fox, his friends and family here on earth will surely miss him.  His legacy lives on through his devoted wife, Barbara Ann Fox, his son, Anthony Earl Fox of Washington, DC; his daughter, Stephanie Marie Fox-Owens and son-in-law, Devoda Sandy Owens, of Memphis, Tennessee, and his soulful granddaughter, Lynecia Monae Christion of Austin, Texas.  Also cherishing his memories are his sister, Edna Marie Taylor (Benjamin Taylor) of Memphis, Tennessee; his brothers and sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, along with other relatives and friends.
