Mrs. Ruthie Campbell Strong, 84 of Memphis, Tennessee died November 12, 2018.  A native Memphian, Ruthie graduated from Manassas High School in 1951.  Her days at Manassas fueled her passion for knowledge.  Ruthie went on to comlete a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biology at Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, a Masters in Educational Psychology from Tennessee State University in Nashville and an Education Specialist degree from, the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.  Ruthie worked at Melrose High School in various capacities.  After 30 years of service, she retired in 1988 as an Assistant Principal.  Ruthie attended Greenwood AME Church in Millington, TN.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John Everett Strong, Jr., a son Everett "Skip" Strong and a daughter C'sara R. Strong, a host of nieces nephews, in-laws, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 15th from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. at Greenwood AME Church, 8005 Donnell Rd, Millington, TN 38053.  Omega Omega Service will be held on Saturday, November 17 at 9:30 a.m. with her funeral to began at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen Baptist Church, 4245 Singleton Parkway, Memphis 38128.  Inerment will follow at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery, Millington 38053.
